With annexation of the area which will include the hydro plant soon to prove a boon to New Cumberland’s finances, New Cumberland City Council discussed ways to further expand the town’s footprpint. Council questioned City Solicitor Keven Pearl about the differing process to take. The property which extends beyond the hydroplant was annexed by Minor Boundary change since there was only one homeowner residing in the district. Other annexation includes a responsibility to bring water and sewer to the area which are annexed. Discussion centered on annexing the area around the Cowl Farm.
As progress for the new city building continues, the auction on the old city building is set for Sept, 20. At this point bidders will have two ready tenants with the old city building: the WVU Extension office and the Family Court. The new City Building is now at work on the floor and Mayor Wil White reported he had visited the morale was high among the workers as they see the project coming together. City Clerk Tammy Jenkins reported that the windows which reflect the period and are able to be open (to take advantage of the breeze from the river) have been order. While the front of the building has ceiling’s of average height, the back part of the building which contains Council Chambers will have a cathedral ceiling.

**monthly invoices of $74,795.46;p
**reported that the property at 600 Ridge Avenue is slated to be demolished February 12. The area will be turned into a parking lot for the Community House;
**Received a bid on the fence at the Jack Watson Pavillion for $6,900.00 for a four-foot fence. Council failed to act on the issue until they obtain more information and estimates;
**Voted to have a float in the Memorial Day Parade;
**Set the Spring Clean Up for April 18, 19 and half-day April 20;
**Voted to open a Park Equipment checking account to keep funds designated for new park equipment from Dept, of Transportation separate from City Funds.
**Noted that the auction for the City property on Pearl Street will also take place on Feb. 10
