As we gear up for another exciting year, I am reaching out to invite you to participate in the 2024 Hancock County 4-H Camp at Tomlinson Run State Park. This year’s camp will take place from July 16th to July 20th, 2024, and we are eagerly seeking volunteers to help make this event a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.

Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our 4-H camps, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to the campers as they engage in a variety of educational and recreational activities. Whether you have experience working with youth or simply have a passion for outdoor education, your contribution will be invaluable in shaping the future leaders of our community.

Here are some ways you can get involved as a volunteer:

• Cabin Counselor: Serve as a mentor and role model for a group of campers, facilitating team-building activities, leading discussions, and ensuring the well-being of your assigned group.
• Activity Leader: Share your expertise and enthusiasm by leading workshops, demonstrations, or recreational activities in areas such as outdoor skills, STEM, arts and crafts, and more.
• Support Staff: Assist with logistical tasks such as registration, meal preparation, facility maintenance, and transportation to help ensure the smooth operation of the camp.
• Specialized Support: If you have specific skills or certifications in areas such as first aid, lifeguarding, or outdoor recreation, we welcome your expertise to enhance the safety and quality of our programming.

Volunteering is not only a rewarding way to give back to the community but also an opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers, build leadership skills, and make lasting memories. No matter your background, we want to make sure that you are able to use your skills and interests to the best of their ability.
