ALERT! HB 5105 on second reading in Senate. The bill which expanded the vaccination exemptions from only medical to a host of vague religious exemptions passed the House and was referred to Senate Health & Human Resources.
It passed out of Senate Health & Human Resources and is now on 2nd reading in the Senate (amendment stage.) It will then get to third and final reading in the Senate. Looks like an amendment has been added dealing with sports participation and if the House of Delegates accepts that amendment it becomes law. If not it goes to a conference committee.
This is it! Things move swiftly towards the end of the session and by tomorrow everything that we know as law when it comes to vaccinations may have changed (it’s still pending the Governor’s signature.)
Call or e-mail Senator Ryan Weld at [email protected] – 304-357-7856 and Senator Laura Wakim Chapman ––[email protected] or 304-357-7918 and tell them to vote no. By the way, Weld is going to be asking for your vote in May as he is up for re-election.
