OBITUARY: John C. “Butch” Fazikas

John C. “Butch” Fazikas, 74, of Chester, WV., passed away peacefully, on April 3, 2024.

Born, July 28, 1949, in Steubenville, he was the son of the late Charles Fazikas and Helen Gates Fetterman.

Butch graduated from South Side High School in 1967. He was a former member of the Airforce National Guard and he later retired from Weirton Steel Corporation.

John enjoyed taking his old car to car shows and bragging about his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Mary Ann Parrish Fazikas; daughters, Angela Lavigne and her husband, Pete of Reno, NV., Michele Clunk and her husband, Chris of New Cumberland; son, Edmund Halstead of Highlandtown, OH; grandchildren, Azia Halstead of Phoenix, AZ., Hannah Clunk of New Cumberland, Terresa Shaw of New York City and Hayden Clunk of New Cumberland and Eileen Mela of Reno, NV.; brother, Thomas Fazikas and his wife, Debi and sisters, Cathy Fazikas Alger and her husband, Bill and Dawn Fetterman Foland.

Pastor Toby Wilson will celebrate Butch’s life, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery where military honors will be provided. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Arner Funeral Chapel from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
