I am proud to say that I am a resident of Hancock County. I am married to retired HCSD Lt. J Keeder and the daughter of the late Sgt. William “Bill” Daughterty. I have one daughter named Jordan Keeder and two Bulldogs named, Meatball and Rigatoni. My father was my best friend growing up and I always admired and respected him for his dedication to the community while being a Deputy Sheriff for 36 years. At an early age that resonated with me and lit a fire inside of me to be a public servant. Diving in at an early age, my first interaction with the law was as a HCSD Reserve Deputy where I was able to work hand in hand with law enforcement. While being a Reserve Deputy I served as Treasurer and had the opportunity to help re-write the bylaws for the organization. I have also worked as a Loss Prevention/ Asset Control Officer, and Surveillance Operator before going to the Hancock County 911 Center in 2009.I graduated from West Liberty University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Minors in Pre-Law and Social Work. I continued to work as a 911 Dispatcher while attending Law School. I proudly obtained my Law Degree (Juris Doctor Degree) from ThomasM. Cooley Law School. In the last year of law school, I was able to participate in an externship with the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office. Through all these past jobs my passion for the law has only grown, giving me insight into ways I can help to improve the current Criminal Justice System.I have spent the last 5 years working for the Northern Panhandle Board of Correction/Criminal Justice directly supervising offenders placed on alternative sentencing by the Court. I have years of direct involvement in our court system working in the City, Magistrate, and Circuit court preparing and filing legal documents, report writing, testifying in court proceedings, and Grand Jury Indictments. From this, I have seen both the good and the bad of the courts’ decisions and the impact that can have on our community. While in this position I have treated everyone fairly while being honest and transparent, giving them the full opportunity to succeed. At the same time, I have been firm, held them accountable for their actions and responsible to the Court. As Magistrate, I will give everyone an equal opportunity to be heard while making fair decisions free of political influence. I will decide impartially and uphold the integrity of the law. I strive to make the future better for all of us and see where I can make a positive change.I care about our community and as Magistrate I will use my common sense and life experience to address the issues in our community. I believe in hard work and dedication and promise to listen to the concerns of all citizens before the court.
