The Hancock County 4-H Camp made a triumphant return this year, marking its first camp since 2019. After facing challenges with enrollment over the past three years, this year’s camp saw a full house with 40 overnight campers, 23 day campers, and 25 dedicated staff members.
“We are incredibly thankful for the overwhelming support we’ve received from the entire county,” said Zachary White, WVU Extension Agent. “The backing from the Hancock County Commission, the Hancock County Board of Education, the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, as well as the parents, campers, and staff, has been instrumental in making history by bringing back 4-H Camp in Hancock County.”
This year’s camp was not just a return to tradition but a testament to the resilience and community spirit that defines Hancock County. The successful re-launch of the camp underscores the importance of youth development and community engagement in the area.
