Barbara A. Gum (Auntie Babs), 86, of New Cumberland, passed, Sunday, July 28, 2024, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born January 6, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William J. Jennings Sr. and Ethel Maude Stiffler Strope.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William J. Stope Jr. and Robert P. Strope Sr.; 2 nephews, Donald W. Strope Jr., John Strope and Richard E. Freeland.
Barb was a graduate of Weir High School. She dedicated 30+ years to working for GC Murphy Company.
She was a member of The Christian Church of New Cumberland.
Barb will be deeply missed by her brother, Donald W. Strope (Linda) of Columbus; sister in-law, Nancy B. Strope of Burgettstown; nieces and nephews, William Strope (Laura) of Weirton, Tammy L. Freeland, Robert Strope Jr. (Debbie) of Burgettstown, R. Scott Strope (Patti) of Pittsburgh; Terri A. Barton of Dry Ridge, KY., Daniel T. Strope of Weirton, Kristine A. Morelock of Columbus and James Miller (Josie) of New Manchester; She will also be missed by a very special great niece, Roxane Kampff and great nephew, Adam W. Freeland; 14 great nieces and nephews, 25 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great niece.
