The Calmbacher family of Ridge Avenue are the winners of the July Yard of the Month Award.  Their yard, which borders the post office parking lot, features a display of bright flowers along the side of the house as well as containers full of flowers on the front porch and throughout the back yard.  Seven year old grandson Lincoln is a big help with weeding and watering the containers and the flower beds.  As winners for the month of July, the family received a check and a framed certificate.  Their yard will display the green Yard of the Month sign until a new winner is announced for August.  This program is a joint effort of the City of New Cumberland the NC Volunteers and helps to foster pride in the community through beautification.
