The Oak Glen Suzan L. Smith Field of Dreams Arch is shown as it came tumbling down this week when a truck driver’s uploader failed to come down to clear the arch. According to Board of Education Vice President Ed Fields, the truck driver was contracted by Steel Turf and replacement costs range from $75,000.00 to $100,000.00. Those costs will be assumed by the companies who caused the damage. Fields assures the public that the arch will be made whole and the commemorate pavers will be put in place so that every donor’s contribution will be honored. The dedication ceremony for the field and unveiling of the arch took place this month.
