The September meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter, Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library. The meeting was called to order by President Fran Jones. The Thought for the Day was given by Jones.
Secretary Mary Lou Martindill presented the minutes of the May meeting and the Executive Board meeting which were approved by the group. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the financial report. Committee reports were given. A fraternity education activity was given by Chairman Susan Gracie and Rita Schmitt.
The group discussed upcoming altruistic projects including collecting items for deployed soldiers; contributing gift cards for the scholarship fundraiser, and ordering logoed tee shirts for Ways and Means. Jones announced that the chapter had received the status of a Six Pearl Chapter from International Headquarters.
Members were encouraged to attend the Ohio Valley District meeting in October. The meeting will be held in Williamstown, WV. Alpha Tau Immediate Past President Amy Hannahs serves as the district chairperson.
Hostesses for the meeting were Amy Hannahs, Mary Lou Martindill and Pam Robinson. The members enjoyed participating in a series of games and activities before enjoying refreshments.
The next meeting will be held October 8, 2024.
