NEW CUMBERLAND WELCOMES NEW BUSINESS

Economic development is happening in the southern end of New Cumberland. Christian Thaman, a local businessman, has relocated his growing operation, Stainless Specialties, LLC, to a building that had been idled for years.

According to Thaman the structure on Ridge Avenue has the space and height the business requires to install cranes as high as 23 feet. The work on the building should be complete by Spring. The new business will offer pipe fabrication, heavy equipment repair, industrial maintenance and processing. While 10 people are now employed, Thaman said number will likely double to 20 when the business opens its doors.

Thaman also owns the entire complex of buildings housed on 3 1/2 acres adjacent to Stainless Specialties. Energy Piping, WV LLC, a separate entity. is also owned by Thaman and located in the buildings which housed the M&E Company, owned by Matt and Eddie Lou Phillips in past years. The Company is a West Virginia-based distributor of industrial maintenance components.

Thaman, his wife and two children also make their home in the apartment above Energy Piping Sales Office.

Mayor Will White said the City is fortunate to have a businessman like Thaman willing to invest in New Cumberland, live and grow his business here.
