ELLE MONOCO IS LIONS’ NOVEMBER SCHOLAR

Oak Glen High School’s Lions Club Scholar for November 2024 is Elle Monaco. Elle, 17-year-old senior, is the daughter of Tracy and Vito Monaco Jr. Elle resides in Chester, WV with her parents and her sisters; Hallie and Kaelin.
Elle is a member of Oak Glen’s Key Club, Prom Committee, and National Honors Society serving as the Treasurer for the NHS. Elle began playing tennis in her sophomore year for the Oak Glen Tennis Team. A two-year letterer in tennis as a sophomore and Junior. As a junior, Elle earned a regional championship in doubles and earned a trip to the WVSSAC State Tennis in both the team and the doubles division. In addition, she was named as the Wheeling Intelligencer’s All-Valley Tennis first-team last year. Elle enjoys teaching tennis to younger students in her free time. As a sophomore Elle was a graduate of the Weirton Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. She is also completing her second year as a student of the Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT) Program. ECCAT is a career technical course that offers a certification to high school students who complete the course requirements. Elle holds a 4.08 GPA.
Following graduation, Elle plans to attend West Liberty University and will pursue a degree in elementary education.
