The Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its November meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library. President Fran Jones called the meeting to order.
The Thought for the Day, a reading from Walking In Grace, was given by Chaplain Kathy Griffith.
Roll call was taken by Mary Lou Martindill, secretary, and minutes of the October meeting were approved as distributed. Martindill also gave the financial report. A report on the Ohio Valley District meeting was given by President-Elect Michelle Lewis. Jones discussed the scholarship fundraisers.
Alpha Tau will host the upcoming tri-chapter Christmas luncheon with Alpha Kappa and Fidelis Gamma which will be held at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in December.
Officer and committee reports were given. Lewis, Altruistic Chairman, reported on this month’s project with Samaritan’s Purse. Membership Chairman Amy Hannahs introduced guests Amanda McKinney and Amy Wilson. Bylaws Chairman Ginger Greene updated the group on revisions to the chapter bylaws.
The members enjoyed a Paint and Dip activity of creating various winter paintings led by Mary Lou Martindill. The hostesses and members provided various chips and dips for refreshments.
