OBITUARY: VIVIAN RICHMOND

Vivian L. Richmond, a longtime resident of Chester, passed away at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester on Saturday, December 7, 2024.Vivian L. Vivian, 92 years old, was born in East Liverpool on May 26, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Helen Diddle Holland.

Vivian was a meticulous homemaker, a former clerk at the First National Bank of East Liverpool, and an East Liverpool High School graduate. She and her husband Bob, who passed away on December 31, 2001, were active members of the First United Presbyterian Church in Chester. Vivian had an outgoing personality, and she never met a stranger. She was a Christian Women’s Club member, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Chester Newell Fish organization. 

In addition, her grandson, Justin Doughty, and her sister, Shirley Sparks, also preceded her in death.

Her children, Beth (Tim) Henthorne of Elizabethton, TN, and Debbie (Ken) Doughty of Industry, PA, and her grandchildren, Alex (Cheri White) Henthorne, Matthew (Amanda) Henthorne, Shane Doughty, and Eric (Cash Kalina) Doughty, are left with cherished memories. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Tom Sparks, and niece and nephew, Lisa and Steve (Renee) Sparks.

Friends are invited to visit with her family as they pay tribute to her at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday, December 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Rev. Val Vais will celebrate Vivians’s life at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery in Georgetown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vivian’s name to Valley Hospice @www.valleyhospice.org.
