Cooper Comm, a senior at Oak Glen High School, is the December 2024 Lions Club Scholar of the Month. Cooper is the oldest son of Doug & Jodi Comm. Cooper resides in Chester with his parents and two siblings; his brother Parker and his sister, Kayler.
Cooper is a 4-year letterman of Oak Glen’s golf team. He holds a 3.8 GPA and is a member of Oak Glen’s National Honor Society. He also is a graduate of the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce’s youth leadership program and serves on the school’s prom committee.
While in high school, Cooper has attended the John D. Rockefeller Career Center during his junior and senior years for carpentry. As he has worked and developed skills within the carpentry program, he has had the opportunity to be an apprentice with a home construction company. Cooper is also an active member of the Chester’s Westminster Presbyterian Church youth group.
On being named Oak Glen’s Lion Club Scholar of the Month, Cooper had this to share; “I am honored to be a recipient of the Lions Club Scholar of the Month. I have been a lifetime volunteer with the Chester Lions Club and understand its motto of “We Serve”.”
After high school, Cooper plans to attend West Virginia University and major in Engineering Technology.
