SAN DIEGO BUSINESS JOURNAL LISTS DOUG PETTIT AS ONE OF SAN DIEGO’S 500 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN 2024

 New Cumberland native and Oak Glen graduate Douglas Pettit has been honored as one of San Diego’s 500 most influential people by the San Diego Business Journal.

Doug is a founding shareholder in the Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin Law Firm. Founded 18 years ago in San Diego, the firm now has expanded to include offices in Los Angeles, Tuscon and Phoenix. Pettit has extensive trial and litigation experience in the areas of civil litigation, business litigation, and professional liability.  He has tried over 80 cases in California and his extraordinary record of favorable outcomes and exemplary client service has resulted in recognition by his peers over the years. 2024 marked the fourth year earning Best Lawyer’s “Lawyer of the Year” distinction, having been previously recognized in 2015, 2018, 2023, and 2024 for his work in Legal Malpractice Law – Defendants and Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants

Doug also was awarded the San Diego Defense Lawyer’s Lawyer of the Year Award in 2023. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the Top Ten lawyers among all attorneys in San Diego County for the last two years.  He was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2007 as the youngest member of the San Diego Chapter at the time.  Doug also has been a guest lecturer at the University of San Diego School of Law and as Master in the Wallace Chapter of the American Inns of Court

Doug graduated from Oak Glen High School and Bethany College. He received his law degree from Washington & Lee. He and his wife, Laurie, are the parents of three children, Katie, Maggie and Jacob. He is the son of Tamara Pettit of New Cumberland and the late Alan Pettit of Wheeling and the brother of Shannon Sayre of New Cumberland. He is the grandson of the late Ronald and Thelma Pettit and the late Margaret Puhowsky and John D. Herron.
