ALPHA TAU CHAPTER ASSISTS IN CLEANING SWANEY

The February meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland. The meeting was called to order by President Fran Jones.

Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from Walking In Grace as the Thought for the Day. Mary Lou Martindill, secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting and took roll call. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the treasurer’s report.

President-elect Michelle Lewis requested members provide volunteer information for the altruistic report. Ginger Greene, Bylaws Chairman, reported that the updated bylaws were approved and submitted to International.

The March meeting will include a silent auction with proceeds being donated to Cystic Fibrosis.

The business meeting was adjourned and members worked with the staff at the Swaney Memorial Library as a service project. Areas of assistance included cleaning the kitchen and removal of items stored in closets to be purged and organized.
