Video Lottery Distribution Bill is Amended

The House Finance Committee reported Committee Substitute for HB 3012 out of Committee Wed., March 20 with a recommendation “it do pass”. The Committee Substitute will be on first reading on the House Floor on Monday.

The distribution of 1% of the racetrack video lottery is divided among the three communities (Weirton, New Cumberland and Chester) and the language specifies that the money “be received in equal shares and per capita has no effect on the distribution. The requirement for Weirton to be wholly located in the county is struck from the bill.

Committee Substitute for HB 3012 is reported to the floor Friday and is expected to on first reading Monday, 2nd reading Tuesday and final and third reading Wednesday. The bill then goes to the Senate for consideration. Sen Ryan Weld has a similar bill in the Senate.
