It’s been quite busy here at Lynn Murray Memorial Library since we last talked. Let’s get caught up.
Our Storytime grows in number, each week, and that’s exciting. We’re even working on rearranging things so we have even more room to continue to add kiddos. Definitely not a bad problem to have. So please be patient with us as we get things better set for all of you.
Our annual Seeds & Trees program is coming up Saturday, April 12 at 11:00. There’s no need to register for this program. Just show up and be ready to get dirty. We will be planting vegetable and flower seeds, making pinecone bird feeders, construction bug houses, and passing out saplings for you to take home and plant.
Our Community Outreach is growing. We are now partnered with Hancock County Senior Services to do a monthly craft class there at the center. We are VERY excited to begin this work. It will be held the second Friday of every month at 10:00. We also have the book exchange going on at the center, so be sure to check that out as well.
We had a wonderful turnout for our annual FORMAL FRENZY last weekend. We had 109 items, consisting of shoes, suits, short gowns, and long gowns, with sizes ranging from 6mths to 3X. This was definitely our best year for variety of sizes, shapes and colors. We had 29 shoppers and sold 9 gowns. So, yet another year of a successful FRENZY.
Crafternoons are still going on as well, every Fri at 1:00, Sit & Stitch is every Friday 11-6, and Quilting on Thursdays 4-6.
I’ll be writing about events as they are coming up, and giving follow-up pics of the events, moving forward. So, until next time…grab a book and let your imagination take you places you’ve never been.
Happy Reading
Miss Connie
