Cemco, Inc., a company which list Edson “Ted” Arneault as President and Patrick Arneault as Vice-President, was awarded the bid to operate Kennedy Marina in Newell by the Hancock County Commissioners. Cemco won the bid on a 2 to 1 vote with Commission President Eron Chek voting in the negative. Five bids were submitted to the Commissioners to manage the Marina.
The Commission hopes to have the Marina operational by May 5th. Cemco’s proposal was for $4,000.00 and Patrick Arneault said the contract is for three years. The marina includes boats slips, an RV Park, an office and a gift shop. The Arneaults see potential to develop the property and have plans that include bringing a restaurant to the Marina which would be family friendly and attract not only boaters, but area residents as well.
The bid and submitted plans must be approved by the US Dept. of Interior.
