OBITUARY: Catherine B. Laneve

Catherine B. Laneve, formerly of Newell, twin sister of Elizabeth A. Laneve, who preceded her in death, passed away at the Orchards of East Liverpool on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Catherine was 74 years old, and she was born in East Liverpool on October 8,1950.  She was the daughter of the late Anthony F. and Nancy Musuraca Laneve.

Survivors include her sisters, Eleanor (Alfred) Ames of Luray, Virginia, and Nancy (Steve) Barlow of East Liverpool, her brothers, Carmen Laneve of East Liverpool, and Anthony (Tony) Laneve of Newell, 

her nephews and niece, Mark (Katarina) Barlow, Joe (Allison) Laneve, and Emily (Matt)Onufrak, and great-nieces and nephews, Iliana Barlow, Luke, Jacob and Christopher Onufrak, Leo and Christine Jayne Laneve.

Catherine retired from the Hancock County Sheltered Workshop and at one time had a paper route in Wellsburg.  She had also been very active in Special Olympics and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Father Bill Matheny will preside for the Catholic Funeral Liturgy at the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday May 13, at 10:00 am. Sacred Heart Parishioners will recite the Rosary at 9:30 am, prior to Mass.  Interment will follow at
