Newell Hosts Third Annual Fun Day

The Newell Community Improvement Coalition and the Newell Volunteer Fire Department are hosting their third annual Newell Fun Day on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Newell Community Center, formerly the Wells Building.

The fun starts at 11:00 AM with a Dunk Tank, Cornhole Tournament, Foam Party, Inflatables, Bump Basketball and food trucks. Route 45 will entertain the crowd from 1pm – 3pm.

Gather all of your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to line Route 2 from 2nd Street to Clarke Field as floats equipped with water begin the ultimate water battle! There will be 50 gallon drums of water along the parade route for spectators to continually fill their squirt guns to retaliate against the floats. Hancock County Savings Bank has graciously donated 300 squirt guns to give away. Please leave your water balloons at home. Floats will be judged with first prize winners getting an opportunity to win a one-year pass for the Wayne Six Toll Bridge. A few spots are still available. Register at www.newellcoalition.org.

The Newell Coalition is also hosting a raffle with all proceeds benefitting future Fun Days. One grand prize will be drawn before the parade worth over $1500 including cash, gift cards, and items such as a fire pit, canopy, beach wagon, stays at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort and Tomlinson Run State Park, plus so much more! Tickets can be purchased at the event or by contacting Shannon Giambroni at (304)479-0141 and are one for $10 or three for $20. Winner need not be present.304.387.1935
