The sky was blue. The temperatures just right. And, the stars aligned for members of the Newell Civic Coalition whose Day of Fun was a raging sucess. The unique “splash parade” was the highlight of the day. The streets of Newell were lined with a large crowd equipped with their weapon of choice, a squirt gun. Barrels of water were ready for their refill. The parade participants were armed with a variety of water guns ready to douse the onlookers. And, when it ended there wasn’t a dry individual to be found.
