Business Owner is New Cumberland’s Newest Council Member

Christian Thaman, owner of Stainless Specialties, LLC, is New Cumberland’s newest Council member. Thaman who moved his business to the Southern end of town a year ago has revitalized the property and established a growing business. He affirmed his commitment to the town, by assuming the vacant seat created when Council member Ann Blankenship did not file for re-election.

Thaman was appointed to the Ward II, Seat B seat by Mayor Will White and confirmed by Council. He took the Oath of Office prior to assuming his seat for his first Council meeting.

Mayor White announced that Maureen and Howard Vulgamore’s Yard on Second Avenue has been chosen as Yard of the Month. Council approved a $50 check to be presented to the couple who will display the Yard of the Month sign in their yard for the coming month.

Council continues their commitment to reduce the number of blighted properties within the town. Two of those properties, 700 North Chester St. and 822 Second Avenue are proceeding to Circuit Court to mandate action.
