In planning for the 26/27 school year, Hancock County is aware that it is over in personnel according to the State Formula. Superintendent Dan Enich informed the Board at Monday’s meeting instead of looking at the staffing in April and May which had been the practice in the past, the process will begin now. Hancock County reported a loss of students this year and Enich said they are beginning to assess staffing now.
In other business, the Board took the following personnel action:
**Granted an unpaid leave of absence to Cassandra Lockerbie, countywide speech pathologist;
**Accepted the resignation of Hailey Deagel, countywide substitute teacher;
**Assigned Stephanie Walker as a countywide substitute teacher;
**Approved the following coaching assignments: Weir High – Chad Artman, assistant wrestling, unpaid/volunteer; Weir Middle, Chad Artman, assistant wrestling, unpaid/volunteer; Joe Jimboy, assistant boys’ basketball; Oak Glen Middle, Mike Smith, assistant wrestling, unpaid/volunteer;
**Approved the following coaching transfers: Oak Glen High, Matt Murray, assistant softball, Oak Glen High, to assistant softball, unpaid/volunteer, Oak Glen High; Joleigh Sollars, Oak Glen High, from assistant softball, unpaid, to assistant softball; Sarah Marie Young, Weir High assistant boys track to head boys’ track.
**The following Spring coaching assignments have been approved: Oak Glen High: Strength & Conditioning – Pat McGillan; Head Boy’s Track – Steve McConnachie; Assistant Boys Track – Travis Simpson; Head Girls’ Track – Ashley Tharp; Assistant Girls’ Track – Erin Malcomb; Head Baseball – Erin Hayden; Unpaid Volunteer – Mark Shenton; Unpaid Volunteer, Mark McHaffie; Head Softball – Sherri Garner; Assistant Softball – Sara Wright; unpaid/volunteer – Rhonda Stipec; Head Girls’ Tennis – Kenneth Keller.
