…….I do not like today. The “fall behind” with the clocks has always played havoc with “where am I and what time is it?” I know where I am for sure, but as a very scheduled person, I have to make hard decisions. I eat dinner at 5 p.m. as does Max. Well, he is not quite as picky as I am and barks til I feed him at 4 p.m. cause according to his tummy it’s 5 p.m. and a tummy is a better indicator than a clock.
And me, I’m hungry at 4 p.m., but wait til 5 because then I can be in tandem with the rest of the world. What happened to the rebel in me?
…….I’ve opened up the clothes closet to the Maddy and Emmy. The “littles” as we sometime call them now have a bench with old jewelry, watches, scarves, hats and try-ons right next to the massive eight-foot mirror that used to be in Mom’s foyer. They love it almost as much as Max and abandoned their Halloween candy to retire to the closet. Pretty son Abbi joined them. It wasn’t long before Maddy came down the steps with a green denim shirt with roses on the sleeves. It drug the floor but someone had folded the sleeves up for her. She looked like she had joined a band or was setting the style fo r pre-school. This child might be a trendsetter
…..Maddy never asks for anything. She simply says in her lilting voice “I like this.” My heart melts and the fact that the shirt was a real find flies out the Nana window.
…..”Would you like it?” I ask. She jumps up and down and disappears back into the closet. As they prepare to leave I notice Abbi has not found anything which is unusual. “Didn’t find anything, Abbi?” I ask. Then she points to the shirt under her arm. “I knew the only way I was getting this was to put it on Maddi. You’d give the girls anything.”
……Smart girls, all of them. Just like Gramma Margaret who invented “Abbi Tuesday” we are teaching them values in our own way: that fashion is fun; that no matter what the problem, get up; dress up; and go conquer the world; but mostly that love has no limits.
……I filed a FOIA request with the Dept. of Environmental Protection and received the Carbon Capture Well application for Tenaska. It’s over 500 pages, but it does have the names of those who have agreed to have the wells on their property. Once I get it to those who have more knowledge we’ll make the information available to our readers.
