When one of Oak Glen’s football coaches found himself turning to the compassionate care of WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital, it
sparked an idea — how could he give back? He shared his experience with his team, and within minutes, the Oak Glen High School football players stepped up, eager to help. The team quickly organized a community effort, reaching out to friends, family, and local supporters to raise funds for the hospital. Recently, the players proudly presented their generous donation to Kelli McCoy of WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center, who accepted the gift on behalf of WVU Medicine. What a shining example of community spirit and heart from the Oak Glen High School football team — proving that teamwork and compassion extend far beyond the field.
