Weirton, WV – The Sixth Annual High School Student Art Exhibition will be presented and hosted by the Top of West Virginia Arts Council. The council is a committee of the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Brooke High, Madonna High, and Oak Glen High are confirmed to participate. The opening reception will occur on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. at the Summit Art Gallery located at 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17 in Weirton (between the Weirton Pet Spa and By the Barrel).
“Lost and Found” will be the theme for the show. The art may be any of the traditional mediums including sculpture and digitally produced works. Five students from each school will receive award ribbons beginning with first place. This exhibition is not a competition between the schools, but a competition within the students works submitted by each school. The teachers and a member of the TWVAC will be the jurors with the teacher from the school being judged abstaining in the voting process. Additionally, each teacher is encouraged to submit an artwork to display in the exhibition. Many pieces of the artwork will be available for purchase as labeled.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception complimented with light refreshments, and also encouraged to visit the gallery during the duration of the show to view and appreciate the talent of these young artists. These activities are free of charge. The exhibition will remain available for viewing after the opening reception Monday through Friday, 9:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. until Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Summit Art Gallery.
The Top of WV Arts Council members work to promote the visual arts and assist the Top of WV CVB with their goals and objectives. The council members believe that young artists should be encouraged and promoted wherever and whenever the opportunity is available.
