The purpose is for notification to our customers of any planned or
Unexpected disruption of sanitary utilities thru our Mass Notification
Texting and Email Systems.
In an effort to communicate as quickly and effectively as possible, when
any potential planned or unplanned disruptions occurs. Management and
Staff will determine what information will be most helpful to our customers
in order for them to prepare for the disruption, which may include Time and
Day of duration of outage. Once that information is formulated the Weirton
Sanitary Board will utilize a texting and email notification system thru
“Heads Up Community” software program. The City of Weirton also
utilizes their own notification system which also provides an email, text,
and phone system thru “Notify Me” as an additional source of notification,
as well as the City posting notification on their Facebook. Customers will
be updated on as needed basis.
Notification are and will continue to be sent to Local TV Stations, Local
Radio Station, EMA office, our Local Hospital, Local and State Health
Departments, City Officials, as well as other entities of importance.
Once a Year the Weirton Sanitary Board will include in our customer bills a
list of the many modes of access to information during major outages, or
crisis, including a telephone number customers can contact to answer
questions during a crisis. This information will also be provided to new
customers at the time Sanitary service is requested.
