MERRY CHRISTMAS!

From our Hometown News family to your family we wish you a blessed Christmas. The communities and their residents have endured tough times and are facing challenging times to come. Employees of the Hancock County School District went home for the holiday break with no news yet of their future. We know that Hancock must reduce 143 staff and the names of those administrators, teachers and school service personnel should be released in January. The complexion of our school district will likely change to accommodate the reductions necessary and all of us are conjecturing which schools will consolidate or close. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and neighbors who face uncertainty during the holiday season.

We are entering our 12th year as a publication and your support has been our greatest gift. When COVID made continuing the printed version not viable, you remained with us as we transitioned to digital. We now can bring the news to you in real time, a valuable asset in today’s fast moving world.

We stand committed to covering the news that matters to you and our communities.
