OBITUARY: Barbara Barnes

Barbara J. Barnes, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and lifelong East Liverpool resident, passed gracefully into rest at East Liverpool City Hospital on Monday, January 19, 2026, following a courageous journey through illness.

Born on September 12, 1960, to Arthur E. and Lucille M. Householder Palmer, Barbara embraced life for 65 years, her story beginning and unfolding in the heart of East Liverpool.

Except for a spirited fourteen-year chapter in Colorado, Barbara’s roots never left the soil of East Liverpool. She flourished as a devoted mother, pouring her love and wisdom into her sons, Steven Barnes of Hanoverton and Chris (Cora) Barnes of Wellsville.

Barbara is now reunited with loved ones who journeyed before, her parents, her brother Jeff Palmer, nephew Jared Coil, and great-nephew Lucas Murphy.

Her legacy lives on in her sons, her sisters Linda (George) Davidson of Calcutta and Kathy (Bob) Coil of Lisbon, her brother Mark Palmer and his companion Brenda Hawk, and a lively, loving family tree of nine grandchildren—Destiny, Desirea, Hayleigh, Cassidy, Vera, Ann, Christopher, Khloe, and Braxton—plus a cherished great-grandson, Kieran. Barbara’s spirit will be treasured by six nieces and nephews and her loyal canine companion, Bandit.

Arrangements are in the care of Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, no public services will be held.
