Michaud is Lions Scholar of for March

Cameron Michaud, 18, is Oak Glen High School’s Lion Scholar for March 2026.  Cameron lives in Weirton, WV with her parents, Nick and Lesley Michaud, and her brother, Daniel.

Cameron has been an active and dedicated participant in many activities during her high school career.  She was selected to participate in the Weirton Chamber of commerce Youth Leadership Program and also represented Oak Glen High School at the American Legion Auxiliary Rhododendron Girls State.  Cameron is a member of the National Honor Society, where she serves as treasurer.  Cameron is also an active participant in Oak Glen High School’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and placed third on the Business Math Test at the Fall Leadership Conference.  Cameron is also VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) certified through FBLA.  Cameron has maintained over a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and was recognized as Distinguished for her SAT scores in both Math and English/Language Arts.  She also placed fourth in Oak Glen High School’s schoolwide Poetry Out Loud competition.

In addition to her academic achievements, Cameron is actively involved in Science Club, Pep Club, Key Club, Culture Club, and Prom Committee.

Cameron is a three-year letterman in soccer, where she was awarded the best sportsmanship award for two consecutive years.  She also was selected to play in the OVAC soccer All-Star Classic.  She is a two-year letterman in swim, where she was awarded the Team Spirit Award and made it to the state competition with her relay team in three events.  Cameron is also a two-year letterman in track and field where she throws the shot put and discus.

After high school, Cameron plans to attend West Virginia University where she plans to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering or Environmental Engineering
