On 03/30/2026 the Hancock County Sheriffs Office conducted a search warrant at 60 Doberman Drive, Chester, WV 26047. The search warrant stems from a joint investigation with the Pennsylvania State Police where Industrial Development Advantage LLC (Former First Energy) reported multiple thefts of copper wire and other items valuing a excess of $50,000 dollars. Upon completion a large quantity of copper wire, miscellaneous tools, and a vehicle were seized. Two individuals involved in the investigation identified as James A Chappell (08/29/1985) of Chester, WV and Eric T.
Boyer (04/06/1969) of Burgettstown, PA were taken into custody. Chappell is charged with Bringing Stolen Property into the state and Breaking and Entering.
