Know the Candidate: 1st District House of Delegates Quincy Wilson

Quincy Wilson is a devoted father, son, educator, coach, and community leader, deeply committed to serving the people of West Virginia. A native son of Weirton, he proudly graduated from Weirton’s Weir High School in 1999 and West Virginia University in 2003. Following his academic tenure, Quincy was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2004 NFL Draft, subsequently spending three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. After concluding his professional athletic career, Quincy returned to West Virginia University, his alma mater, to embark on a coaching career in 2012. His life has been characterized by a steadfast dedication to service, leadership, and diligence – values that continue to guide every facet of his professional and personal endeavors. This initiative is grounded in a straightforward yet potent concept: reinstating accountability, transparency, and genuine dedication to the people of Charleston. For an extended period, the concerns of ordinary West Virginians have been eclipsed by those of political insiders and special interest groups. Quincy is a candidate because he firmly believes that governance should be responsive to the populace, rather than the latter being subordinate to the former.
