Martin Kosut Jr., 84, of New Cumberland, WV passed away peacefully at home on April
20 ,2026 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born July 26th 1941 in Weirton WV to Edna. and Martin Kosut
He spent his younger years in Weirton, Follansbee and Maxburg Ohio. Many summers were enjoyed at his grandmothers in Maxburg.
, . He. enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 and served four years, some of that spent in Korea.
Marty married the love of his life Carol (Lowther) Kosut in August of 1961
He retired from Weirton Steel, after serving 30 years. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in nature. He was always ready to lend a hand, often helping neighbors and family with odd jobs and big or small tasks that made a big difference in all our lives.
Above all he loved his family deeply.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Tim (Karen) Kosut, daughter Michelle (Jeff) McManigal,grandchildren Franklin Postlethwait, Brian Postlethwait, Tyler (Heather)Kosut, Ryan (Caroline) Kosut and great grandchildren Mila and Eli.
He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Reed. his father Martin Kosut, his brother
Richard Kosut and his sister JoAnn Sparks.
Per Marty’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
