Cops and CourtsCHESTER MAN STABBED IN BELLY; SUSPECT IN CUSTODYDecember 26, 2023 Share on Facebook Share on X (Twitter) Share on Pinterest Share on LinkedIn Christmas Day Stabbing On December 25, 2023 at 8:31 pm the Hancock Co 911 Dispatch Center received a frantic call that a man had been “stabbed in the belly” at 701 Maxwell Avenue, Chester,WV. The caller, identified as Kevin J Frederick, 53 years old, lives at this address. He was being visited by his long-time friend, Eric M Hebb, 52 years old, of East Liverpool, OH. The two were the only ones present in the house at the time. It is not known at this time what transpired to cause events to escalate, but Frederick stated that Hebb had assaulted him, so he stabbed Hebb in the belly. Officers from the Chester Police Department and Deputies from the Hancock Co Sheriff’s Office began arriving within minutes of the initial call. They discovered Hebb lying inside the house on the floor. He had a deep laceration to his abdominal area, causing his internal organs to be eviscerated. Chester VFD First Responders and Hancock Co Ambulance Service personnel arrived and began treating Hebb for his serious injury. Medevac was not immediately available, so Hebb was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital. He was in critical condition, but was shortly stabilized enough to be flown by STAT Medevac to the trauma center at UPMC- Presbyterian in Pittsburgh PA. He underwent immediate surgery, and as of the media release time, is currently listed as Critical, but Stable condition. Frederick was taken into custody immediately at the house for the stabbing. He was arrested, processed, an then transported to the WV Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville, WV, where he is currently being held pending a court appearance.
