DULANEY LIONS FEBRUARY STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Savannah Weslyn Dulaney is a 17-year-old member of Oak Glen’s Class of 2024.  She resides with her parents Faith and Troy Dulaney in New Cumberland, WV.

Savannah is a flutist in Oak Glen’s marching and concert bands and the recorder ensemble.  Savannah has a vast band résumé.  She has played in three West Virginia High School Region 1 Honor Bands and attended the West Virginia Region 1 Solo and Ensemble, earning an excellent rating.   She has earned a varsity letter her sophomore and junior years and was named the Most Outstanding Sophomore and Junior in OGHS band.  In addition, Savannah has participated in The West Liberty Honor Band, The West Liberty University Winds, and The West Virginia’s Army National Guard Master Classes and Band.

Savanah also is a member of Oak Glen’s Little Theater productions, operating the lights for seven shows. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Prom Committee, Culture Club and the Judicial Scholars. As a sophomore, Savannah attended West Virginia Governor’s School of Arts and was a member of the Weirton Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program.

Savannah earned a 4.5 GPA for the first semester of her senior year with a cumulative 4.06 GPA. Academic honors include an academic excellence award for her distinguished SAT scores and the West Virginia Promise Scholarship. 

After high school Savannah will enroll in West Virginia University for Forensic Biology in the Fall of 2024.  She plans on participating in WVU’s concert band.
