In memory of the late Bob Manypenny and John Edwards a new flag at Oak Glen gymnasium has been installed. The flag will be rolled down for the National Anthem at school events and was funded by the community. Manypenny served in a variety of roles at Hancock County schools beginning as a teacher at New Cumberland high school; athletic director and vice principal at Oak Glen. He was a loyal and active member of the New Cumberland Lions and devoted many hours to community activities. In addition to being a teacher at Oak Glen, Edwards was a talented musician whose played and sang at many events. His recorded voice will still sing the National Anthem for Oak Glen events. He was also a member of the Lions Club and other organizations and a devoted sports fan known to athletes and coaches alike.
