“Cork” Harry V. Davidson III of Wellsville passed suddenly at his home on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was being treated for lung cancer.
Harry was the son of the late Harry V. Davidson Jr and Audrey Powell Davidson. He was 76 years old. Harry was born on February 6, 1948, in East Liverpool.
Harry was a mechanical wizard he could fix everything except the clock. He was a Mill Wright at the former Crucible Steel in Midland, he retired from J&L Steel. He then began a crane repair and inspection career at Simmers Crane in Salem. When customers called for crane repair, they’d ask for the “Legend” because they knew he was the best. Harry’s love for his family and theirs for him was quite evident. Harry’s other passions were hunting and fishing. He was a Wellsville High School graduate. He then received a degree in Drafting from Kent State University. Also, Harry was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool.
Along with his parents, he suffered the loss of his granddaughter, Katelyn Marie Davidson, and his brother, William Davidson.
His loving wife of 54 years, Susan Davidson whom he married on August 23, 1969, survives as does his children, Amanda (Travis) Ferguson, and Rick (Daisy) Davidson, and his granddaughter, Peyton Davidson, all of Wellsville. In addition, Harry leaves his brother, Dr. Robert (Luann) Davidson of Lewis Center, OH, his sister, Jackie Perry of Hooper, UT, two special nieces, Christina Thomas, and Stephanie Hall, as well as his faithful dog, Bailey.
Father Leo Welhrin will preside for the Catholic Funeral Liturgy at Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool on Friday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with his family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Following the Friday Mass, friends and family are invited to the Living Well Church in Wellsville to continue celebrating Harry’s life with food and fellowship.
