The Hancock County Board of Education abolished the position of Director of Student Services; State Testing, Health Services, Public Relations, Safety, Grant Writing, Elementary Education, Title 1 position. The position, held by Andrea Dulaney, who is no longer employed by the system, is eliminated effective at the end of the day June 30,, 2024.
The Boar then voted to create the new position of Director of Federal Programs, Students Services and Assessment. Kristen Bissett was appointed to fill that position. Assistant Superintendent Dave Smith said the new position is “vital to our County.” An increasing amount of Federal Programs are available and utilized by the County, but each one comes with rules and regulations which must adhered to in order to retain them.
