Board of Education Recognizes TSPARK Business Competition Winners

Two Hancock County Students were recognized Tuesday night by the Hancock County Board of Education for “Business Pitch” competition placement. The Ed Venture group in partnership with the West Virginia Dept. of Education sponsors SPARKWV, an entrepreneurship-inspired competition, designed to spark the creativity of West Virginia middle- and high-school sudents. Alexis Rhodes was named a “Rockstar Presenter” for pitching her business, which improves hospital bed, to the judges. Victoria Oliveros was awarded the “Level Up” award for the passion she brought to her presentation. Oliveros’ business is a Venezuelan restaurant. Olivero want to not only bring great food from her origin country, but to celebrate her culture.
