The volunteer who looked at an old school gym and saw the potential to make it a gemstone for community events was honor by the field house being named after him expressed shock and appreciation at the gesture.
Councilman and Municipal Building manager Mike Dotson took the space which was formerly the Chester Middle School gym and began work on returning it to a space youth sports could once again be played. The space also became a space where residents could hold events, both family and community.
Mayor Ed Wedgewood announced that he is committed to the City Cleanup. Data is now being collected for new lamp posts. Each post will inspected and will have an elecrical outlet
