County Commission Considers Use of Parks & Rec. Building

With an office no longer in use by the Hancock County Parks & Recreation Board, the Hancock County Commission is examining other ways to make use of the county-owned space. Commission President Eron Check said she had put the item on the Commission’s agenda Thursday to get input on uses for the space. Previously the space had been utilized for the Parks & Recreation’s Board secretary.

Since the Jefferson County Animal Shelter taking over the management of the Hancock Shelter, it has brought in it’s own veterinarian and Commissioners decided to speak with Jefferson before considering other uses.
