Chester Mayor Ed Wedgewood has announced his intention to seek another term as Mayor.
“I’ve decided to seek a second term as Mayor of the City of Chester,” said Wedgewood. “Over the past four years of this term, the City has made great progress, but I feel there is more to be done.”
Wedgewood pointed out that a new sewer plant will be needed as well as continued improvements to the city’s infrastructure. In addition,
“I’d like to continue our dilapidated homes demolition project. It is key to improving the aesthetics of the city,” he said. “I feel as though I have accomplished a lot in my first term. I am most proud of the amount of grant money we were able to bring back to Chester. It has allowed us to pave our streets, improve water infrastructure, and countless improvements to our municipal building. We have also strengthened our ordinances and streamlined our municipal government during this time. We’ve also become financially secure thanks to the Home Rule Ordinance and the return of casino proceeds to the City. “
“It would be an honor to lead the City of Chester for the next four years and I will be seeking the voters support on election day.”
