Emma Stansbury is Lions’ Scholar for February

Emma Sue Stansbury, 18, is the daughter of Julie Stansbury and a resident of New Cumberland, West Virginia. Throughout her high school career, Emma has been actively involved in both school and community activities. She is a dedicated member of Key Club, Prom Committee, Pep Club, and the National Honor Society, and has served as Secretary of Student Council since her freshman year.

Emma lettered in soccer during her junior year and is an altar server at Sacred Heart Church. She and her fellow senior class officers were recognized by the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office for organizing a highly successful voter registration drive, registering 100% of their senior class and earning Oak Glen High School the prestigious Jennings Randolph Award.

Emma was also selected to represent her school at the American Legion Auxiliary Rhododendron Girls State, she participated in youth leadership and was honored to be a member of the Homecoming Court her junior and senior year, as well as Prom Court her junior year. Outside of school, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Following graduation, Emma plans to major in Animal Science with the goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian in the future.
