RONNIE JONES

This concludes the County Commission series on Know the Candidate. One Democrat – Brianne Bates, and two Republicans, Eron Chek and Ronnie Jones, will vie for the single Butler District County Commission. With no opposition in the Democratic primary, Bates will progress to the General Election in November. Chek and Jones will face each other in the May 12 Primary with one progressing to the General Election. Only registered Republicans can cast their vote on the Republican ticket.

RONNIE JONES

My name is Ronnie Jones. I am seeking the office of Hancock County Commissioner from Butler District.

I grew up in Hancock County and raised my son here. I was employed for 40 years by the Weirton Area Water Board. I am proud to say I am a lifelong Weirton, Hancock County resident.

I served as a Weirton city councilman (ward 1) for 8 years as well as a House of Delegate (former District 1) for 2 terms.   Holding these elected offices taught me how to work together with other elected officials to make my city/district a better, safer place to live and work.  I am proud of my service commitment to the Northern Panhandle.

The Hancock County commissioners MUST work together to build a strong future of fairness and opportunity for ALL of Hancock County. If I am fortunate enough to get elected, I will work with my fellow commissioners in an open and honest way to make Hancock County the best it can be. I will help and work with all elected officials in Hancock County to ensure we have strong  law enforcement to keep us protected, firefighters to keep us safe, county parks for us to enjoy.  No matter what office I have held, I always have and always will put the people I represent FIRST!

With my experience, I would like to have the opportunity to serve Hancock County as your full-time County Commissioner. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 304-914-1868. I would appreciate your vote on May 12th
