New Cumberland City Council Looks at Unsightly Business

New Cumberland City Council discussed   the problem of a business on North Chestnut Street that is collecting appliances in the ravine behind the store and around the store.   The large number of appliances are sitting outside in the weather and are creating an eyesore on the main road.  Bradley & Son is listed as appliance repair store, but the large number of stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers would suggest otherwise.

The City Clerk will check into whether Bradley & Sons pays a B&O Tax to the City  and what steps can be taken to have the area cleaned up and unsightly appliances can be hauled away.

Council discussed the problem of yellow lines being painted on 2nd & 3rd avenue to ensure emergency vehicles can access a residence if need be.  Questions have arisen concerning parking being allowed if a disabled or ill individual resides within a home near the line.  Police Chief Lester Skinner assured those concerned that wouldn’t be a problem.
