Colleen Candace “Candy” Hibbs, 73, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Her warmth, generosity, and light touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, on April 30, 1953, Candy was the beloved daughter of the late Wilford and Jessie (McConnell) Cash. She grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and lifelong friends who cherished her vibrant spirit.
Candy was known for her unwavering work ethic and dedication. She last worked as a conscientious manager at King’s Restaurant in Monaca, PA, where she inspired colleagues with her kindness and commitment. Previously she worked for many years as the General Manager of Damon’s Restaurant in Steubenville, OH. Candy was also a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving her country with honor.
She graduated from Steubenville High School in 1971, where she played clarinet in the high school band and loved studying history. Candy grew up dancing and was classically trained. She spent many years of her life devoted to dance, performing up and down the eastern seaboard. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening and shopping and spending time with her sweet dog, Poppy.
In addition to her parents, Candy was preceded in death by her last husband, John Hibbs; her first husband, Dennis Bunten; her long-term boyfriend and love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Trimer; and her three cherished sisters, Joanne, Jane, and Jean, whose memories she held close to her heart.
Candy is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Jessica (Jerry Bull) Bunten of Medford, OR, and her treasured grandchildren, Dylan Bunten and Quinn Bunten-Bull. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in their hearts.
In keeping with Candy’s wishes, no services will be held. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester for their compassionate care and support.
