The building at the corner of High Street and Veteran’s Boulevard in New Manchester will once again be home to a business. The closure of Franco’s, where owner Dave Ireland operated a pizza and sub carry-out for 17 years, had many community members mourning the absence of a local eatery. Facebook was aflutter this week with news that John Hale and his family were opening a take-out and catering business on the site and christening it “Hales on High Street.” A New Manchester resident, Oak Glen graduate, and well-known chef, John, his wife, Beth, and daughters announced they would open July 20.
