- Alva Charles Webster, 85, of New Cumberland, WV passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at home. He was born December 24, 1936 in Weirton, WV a son of the late Merril Raymond & Veronica Rose (Drelick) Webster. He is also preceded by 2 brothers Robert R. Webster & Ronald A. Webster; a sister Joan Watkins; a daughter in law Stacey Webster and his oldest grandson Caleb Ireland (1-8-22). Alva was retired from Weirton Steel Corporation and was an Army veteran. Surviving are his wife Mary (McMahon) Webster at home; his children Latisha Marie (David ) Ireland, Alva C. (Jennifer) Webster & Stephlana (Joe) Doerfer all of New Cumberland, WV and Joseph B. Webster of Harwood, MD; 2 brothers Floyd Webster and William M. Webster both of New Cumberland, WV; sister in laws Cindy Webster & Stella Webster both of New Cumberland, WV, Ellen Saad of El Paso, TX and Florence Cronin of Beech Bottom, WV; he was Pap – Papaw – Pappy to many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and they were very special to him. He was Uncle Shorty to many Nieces and nephews. At Shorty’s request “Nothing Fancy and I Mean It !!!” Services will be held at the convenience of the family and Interment will be in New Cumberland Cemetery.
